Frequently Asked Questions

For Students & Families

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to apply?

Applicants must be active members of a West Florida Ministry Network (WFMN) church, demonstrate a clear call to ministry, and be accepted to an accredited community/junior college for prerequisites before transferring to a university or ministry school. A pastoral recommendation is required.

What costs does the endowment cover?

The endowment covers tuition (and in some cases mandatory fees) for your degree pathway. Books, housing, and personal expenses are the responsibility of the student unless otherwise specified.

Can I choose any major?

Degrees must prepare you for ministry—typically in ministerial leadership, theology, missions, or related fields. Some flexibility exists if the major directly equips you for ministry service (e.g., counseling, education, worship ministry).

Am I required to attend a specific university?

No. You must complete your prerequisites at a community/junior college, then may transfer to the accredited Christian university or ministry school of your choice, provided it aligns with your calling and is approved by WFMN.

What happens if my calling changes while I’m in school?

We recognize that God sometimes redirects callings. Any change must be discussed with WFMN leadership. Continued funding is contingent on remaining in a ministry-focused degree and track. Failure to complete your classes as originally agreed upon may result in you repaying the endowment.

What happens after I graduate?

Recipients agree to serve a minimum of four years:

- As a pastor/leader in a WFMN church, or

- On the mission field (after raising your support) for four years.

What if I don’t fulfill the service requirement?

Students who cannot or do not complete the four years of service may be required to repay the scholarship investment, unless otherwise determined by the WFMN leadership team.

For Churches

Frequently Asked Questions

How are students placed into WFMN churches after graduation?

Placement is prayerfully coordinated between the student, WFMN leadership, and churches with staffing needs.

Can my church sponsor a specific student?

Yes. Churches may give directly to the endowment and designate their gift toward a specific student, pending approval.

What if my church can’t contribute financially but wants to help?

Churches can support students through mentorship, internships, housing, and practical ministry opportunities.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does my donation make an impact?

Every dollar helps train and send debt-free ministers into WFMN churches and the mission field. This endowment may also be used to help some struggling churches with staff salaries in a revitalization season.

Recurring gifts sustain the endowment long-term and increase the impact in West Florida and for the Kingdom of God.

Can I give in memory or honor of someone?

Yes. Named scholarships or endowed funds can be established to honor a pastor, family member, or legacy leader.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. The A.E. Hall Leadership Endowment is a recognized charitable entity of the West Florida Ministry Network.

How do I know this fund will last?

The endowment is professionally managed with accountability and oversight. Only the interest earnings are used for scholarships, ensuring long-term sustainability.
